“We will be accepting dry food for cats and dogs,” said Senior Animal Control Officer Lupe Valdez. The shelter staff will also take canned and bagged foods and cash check donations.
The donation table will be set up from 8 a.m. until noon on Aug. 10 at the front of the store.
The shelter has stepped up efforts to find homes for the animals the staff brings in from city streets and many dogs and cats have been adopted by loving families.
Computer users are invited to check out and like the City of Beeville Animal Shelter page on facebook. It includes dozens of photos of adopted dogs and cats and their new families.
“Please help us feed our furry friends,” Valdez said. “All donations help make a difference.”
