Miriam Kathleen Chambless and Brandon Richardson Burnette were married Saturday, July 20, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. John Chavarria officiated the double-ring ceremony.

The bride was given in marriage by her father, Joseph A. Chambless. She wore a fitted white gown with shimmering lace and cap sleeves and carried white and yellow daisies.

The church was decorated with daisies, other flowers and greenery. Music for the ceremony was provided by Mary Ellen Thoms on the piano and Linda Ray on the violin. Selections included “Storybook Love” – the theme from The Princess Bride – and “Ava Maria” on the violin.

The matron of honor was Marie I. Jackson of Everett, Wash., sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Noemi Aldape, Stacy Stevenson and Julie Edlin. The attendants carried carnations and wore gowns alternating of canary yellow and clover green.

The flower girl was Lauren Elizabeth Chambless. She wore a yellow dress with sparkles. Ring bearers were Kyle Edward Chambless and Theodore A. Jackson.

Best man was Charles Dent Burnette Jr. of New Jersey, and groomsmen were Micau J. Chambless of Round Rock, John J. Chambless of La Grange and Francis R. Chambless of Round Rock. John J. Chambless Jr. of La Grange served as usher.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the First Methodist Church fellowship hall, which was adorned in green and yellow and Doctor Who-themed decorations.

A rehearsal dinner was given by Charles and Carol Burnette at The Lodge at Shorty’s Place on Friday evening, July 19. Forty guests attended.

The bride is the daughter of Joseph A. and Elizabeth A. Chambless. She is a 1993 graduate of A.C. Jones High School and a 2010 graduate of Texas A&M University at Corpus Christi, where she received a bachelor of science degree in criminal justice.

The groom is the son of Charles D. and Carol Burnette of Santa Claus, Ind. He graduated high school in 1984 in Richardson and attended Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, earning a bachelor of science degree in 1989. He also attended the University of Kentucky, earning a master’s degree in library science. He is currently employed at Southeastern Oklahoma University.

After a wedding trip to Seattle, Wash., the couple will reside in Durant, Okla.
