The USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service in Live Oak County and the Live Oak Soil and Water Conservation District invite the public to attend their 2013 Local Working Group meeting Aug. 13, from 10 a.m. until noon at the LOC AgriLife Extension Office located 204 E. Bowie St. in George West.

The purpose of this annual meeting is to set local conservation priorities and bring conservation stakeholders together to discuss conservation topics and issues relevant to helping LOC farmers and ranchers better conserve natural resources.

The meeting’s agenda is to update attendees on recent conservation efforts, to collect public input to help guide future conservation activities through regular identification of conservation opportunities and effective Farm Bill investment and its benefits for LOC.

Farmers, ranchers, land managers, and others interested in sustaining agricultural production and wildlife habitat in LOC are invited to participate.
