Beeville – Faith Lutheran Church will hold the second concert in its 4th annual Summer Concert series this Sunday, July 14.

Faith Lutheran’s own praise band, Cross Ways, will take the stage at 7:30 p.m. This will be a special and bittersweet concert for Cross Ways, as this will be the farewell concert for their lead singer, Stacy Stevenson, who will be moving to San Antonio in August. Stacy has been with Cross Ways since they formed the worship band five years ago, and she also has appeared in several Coastal Bend College musicals, including the role of Maria in their 2009 production of “Sound of Music.” Cross Ways will feature Stacy in a special mini-concert format in the middle of their evening performance.

In addition to some of Stacy’s best and favorite praise and worship songs, she also will perform songs that reflect her musical history here in the community. She started her vocal performances with the A.C. Jones High School Jazz Band, so she will sing “Sunny Side of Street” and “Blue Skies.” She also will do some songs from musicals, a Beatles tune and several of her most requested worship and praise songs. All of this will be in addition to the songs that Cross Ways will perform for the evening concert.

“We will be doing some great, old-time gospel songs and a few songs that I have written,” Jim Stevenson said. “This should be a very good concert, and we hope everyone will turn out to say goodbye to Stacy.”

Visitors may bring their own lawn chairs or use one of the church’s folding chairs. They may also bring soft drinks, but free bottled water will be available for everyone.
