Edward R. “Flaco” Perales, age 63, passed away July 10, 2013, at his residence after a sudden illness. He was born on April 13, 1950, in Bee County to the late Eduardo and Virginia Perales and proudly served his country in the United States Army being honorably discharged after four years of service. He was united in holy matrimony to the late Gloria T. Peralez. Edward also worked in civil service for 36 years and was a member of the Catholic Church.

In addition to being preceded in death by his parents and wife, Gloria T. Peralez; he was also preceded by his uncles and aunts, Bonifacio and Petra Reyna and Fransisco and Antonia Chapa who also assisted in raising him.

He is survived by: daughter, Virginia Jane Perales of Beeville; granddaughter, Kyndall Ryann Maisel of Beeville; sister, Mary Louisa Peralez of Fort Worth; sisters/cousins, Bertha (Herman) Chapa of Beeville, Lupe (Richard) Blayton, Josie C. Hernandez, and Janie (Pete) Casarez of Fort Worth; brother/cousin, Adolfo (Janie) Chapa of Beeville; step-children, Irene Peralez, Irma Peralez of Beeville and Ruben Peralez of Corpus Christi; 5 grandsons, numerous great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Rosary will be recited at the Treviño Funeral Home on Sunday, July 14th, at 7 p.m. Funeral mass and celebration of life will be held on Monday, July 15th, at 10 a.m. at Saint James Catholic Church with the Rev. Balaswamy Pasala, officiating. Interment will follow at Mineral Cemetery with full military honors.

Active pallbearers: Hugo Fernandez, Herman Fernandez, Jeremy Delos Santos, Johnathon Delos Santos, Joel Hernandez, and Luis Gonzales. Honorary pallbearers: Scotty Hernandez, Nick Hernandez and Jacob Hernandez.
