"Ask the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers." Luke 10:2

The Gospel lesson that Pastor Bruno of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Runge based his sermon on was taken from the tenth chapter of Luke. The Lord had appointed seventy-two followers to go two by two into every town and place where the Lord himself was about to go and witness to the people about what God had done for them. Just as these seventy -two went out into the world, we are to do likewise. God has given us all the tools and resources we need to reach out to others. We just need to share what God has done and continues to do in our own lives. To a world hungry for God's presence and grace, God sends laborers to proclaim, heal, teach, and care, to work for justice and wholeness among all people. The labors are many and various, but the same Lord enacts them all.

God of glory and love, peace comes from you alone. Send us as peacemakers and witnesses to your kingdom, and fill our hearts with joy in your promises of salvation through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

The congregation at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Runge rejoices with the family and friends of baby Korbyn Bentley Green, son of Jeffrey and April Green, who was baptized by Pastor Bruno on Sunday. Proud grandparents are Connie and Jimmy Waskow and Sharon and Walter Green.
