District 11 record book judging will be held on July 11 at the Julie Wimberly Memorial Homemaking Building.

Parent-volunteers with prior experience are needed as judges. Those interested are asked to contact the Goliad County Extension Office as soon as possible.

GCFA checks at office

There are still several checks that need to be picked up at the Goliad County Extension Office. Those who participated in the Goliad County Fair (animals, homemaking, ag mechanics) can pick up their checks.

Steer validation June 25

The major show steer validation will be June 25 from 8 to 10 a.m., at the Goliad Animal Clinic.

The validation will also ensure project eligibility in the 2014 GCFA.

Turkey order June 19

Those interested in exhibiting turkeys at the 2014 GCFA or in San Antonio must order birds by Wednesday,

June 19.

The pickup date will most likely be in the first week of November.

The cost of this year’s poults is $3.50/bird. Orders must be in lots of 25.

When splitting an order, members will only be able to receive 12 or 13. Orders must be made as a county group. No individual orders may be made, and no other turkeys may be shown at the GCFA.

For information on the county show call the Goliad County Extension Office or Kay Walker, the GCFA Turkey Chair.
