UV index to reach extreme level today

GOLIAD – Temperatures in Goliad County are expected to climb to 96 degrees this afternoon with the UV index reaching an extreme level of 11, according to the National Weather Service.

People working outside and others exposed to sunlight for lengthy periods of time are urged to wear protective clothing or sunscreen.

There is a 30 percent chance of rain and isolated thunderstorms are forecast for the county.

The low tonight will be around 74.
