Karnes City Public Library’s Summer Reading Program begins June 3

The Karnes City Public Library’s 2013 Summer Reading Program will start on Monday, June 3. The theme for this year’s program is “Feed Your Imagination: Read”. The Summer Reading Program is an annual event held each summer to encourage reading and to promote library usage.

All kids age 2 years through 5th grade may sign up for the program beginning Tuesday, May 28. A library card is required. Prizes will be given for the number of points earned and a party will be held at the end of the program.

A calendar of scheduled performers and activities, along with guidelines for the program, will be available at the library starting Tuesday, May 28.

Mad Science of San Antonio will be the performers for the Reading Program. They will be presenting their Marvels of Motion show at the Library on Thursday, June 6 at 10:30 a.m. This is an interactive show all about motion, inertia and gravity. There will be some egg tossing, dancing and even amazing alien antennae. The public is invited.
