County commissioners choose to terminate SRO agreement with Goliad ISD

GOLIAD – The Goliad County Commissioners Court voted 3-2 to terminate an agreement with Goliad ISD providing for a security resource officer for the school district.

During Tuesday's meeting, Goliad County Judge David Bowman and commissioners Ted Long and Ronald Bailey voted against renewing the contract, which will expire Sept. 30.

It is sad to see three of our elected officials playing politics with the safety and well being of our communities' school employees and students. All of this will be remembered come election time.
