Visitation will be held Thursday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Angelus Funeral Home. A prayer service will be held there at 7 o’clock that evening.
A graveside service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Friday in the Evergreen Cemetery in Skidmore, with Luis Peña officiating.
Pallbearers will be Joe Herrera, Cecil Herrera, Lori Mendez, Mike Peña III, Joseph Peña and Loren V. Martinez.
Mr. Peña was born May 7, 1922, to Manuel and Bartola (Vasquez) Peña in Robstown. He married Lydia Rodriguez in May 1947 in Robstown. He was a mechanic.
Survivors include three daughters, Eva (Joe) Herrera of Dallas, Mary Lou (Cipriano) Vasquez of Odem and Cynthia Ann (John Ben) Garza of Corpus Christi; eight sons, Luis Peña, Rogelio (Beatrice) Peña, Samuel (Inez) Peña and Gilbert (Norma) Peña, all of Skidmore, Pete (Rosa) Peña, Alfonso (Edna) Peña and Mike (Chriselda) Peña Jr., all of Corpus Christi, and Joe Richard (Elizabeth) Peña of Willie; one sister, Feliciana Salazar of Austin; 37 grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lydia R. Peña, and a son, Onofre Peña.
