The Karnes City Craft Club held its meeting at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Karnes City Sunday, April 11. The meeting was called to order by President Shirley Frazier who led the members in reciting the pledge and the Lord’s Prayer. Secretary Orlis Jonas called the roll and members answered by citing their favorite flower. Then she read the minutes of the previous meeting. The treasurer, Myra Patton, gave the treasury report.

The birthday for April was Vi Wehman. A birthday card had been sent and the group sang the birthday song. Get well cards were sent to those who were ill.

After a short discussion regarding the May luncheon, the business meeting was then adjourned. The door prize was a pot plant won by Maxie McNally. The hostess gift was won by Shirley Frazier who received a Hersey Chocolate Soap Bar with in a soap dish.

The hostesses for the day were Charlene Looney, Diane Maitland, and Orlis Jonas. Diane presented the craft which was making a paper file purse. It was constructed from a school colored folder cut and folded into the shape of a purse and then decorated with other paper and stickers. A ribbon was used to make a handle and Velcro used for the closure. It is an attractive holder for special cards and notes. After making the craft everyone enjoyed refreshments and fellowship.

Those present were Melba Wolff, Treva Fossler, Orlis Jonas, Patsy whitehead, Diane Maitland, Patty Bedford, Jo Ann Kroll, Charlene Looney, Maxie McNally, Vi Wehman, Joan Smith, Shirley Frazier, Pat Hemby, Beverly Henke, and Myra Patton.

The next meeting will be the annual May Luncheon on May 9 and will be at Barth’s Restaurant. Members should arrive at 11 a.m. There will be a short meeting and then lunch and fellowship. There will be no meetings in June, July, and August. The September 12 meeting will be a guest demonstration and members will bring refreshments.
