After being open more than a year, business is good, and employees are needed at Valerus, an oil and gas equipment and service company outside of Three Rivers.

Bill Bowers, vice president of production equipment, said that Valerus can perform both field services and shop services to a variety of midstream processing equipment, including natural gas compressors, separators, heater treaters, condensate stabilizers and more.

The company has the ability to paint, work on electronics, motor components and more for each piece of equipment.

The company has a rental fleet of equipment that it maintains but will also work on other companies’ equipment.

Bowers said employees there also design and sell or design and run compression equipment.

The needs of each client are different.

“Cash sales are for someone who is sure of their plans,” he said.

The rental option is appealing for people who are still developing a plan or might not be operating in the area long term.

Much of the equipment sold by Valerus is built on-site at the Three Rivers facility in the warehouses.

Bower said, “It is easier to build the equipment in a controlled environment.”

The equipment is also all built on skids which makes it cost effective to move anywhere at any time.

With such a wide variety of services to a busy market, the company is in need of more employees.

The Three Rivers office currently has more than 20 open positions.

“Valerus is looking for field service technicians, from entry level to strong experience,” a press release from the company said. “For example, those with diesel mechanic experience can receive about a week’s worth of training and be ready to begin work.”

Bowers said that military experience is a plus but not required. The company is willing to train the right person.

Some entry level positions also are open.

Those interested in learning more about the open positions or applying can visit the company’s website at www.valerus-co.com/careers.

Valerus has been in business since 2002 and has 35 offices around the world with hundreds of employees. The Three Rivers office that opened in February 2012 has 81 employees in it alone.

Bowers said Valerus has a great safety record and has maintained a total recordable incidence rate (a measure of the rate of recordable workplace injuries, normalized per 100 workers per year) of around .5, which is less than one-third of the industry average, for the last two years.

Bowers said that workplace safety is part of the company’s culture and it should make it more attractive to job seekers.
