Barker said Saturday night’s event raised the targeted $45,000 in funds.
“It was a crazy night,” Barker said. “The bands were really good. The high school kids competed in a high-heel race.”
The Empresario Restaurant hosted the survivor’s dinner and country band County Line donated its services with live music throughout the night.
Barker said the luminary sale was up from last year.
“We had four or five people who raised over $1,000 for the whole thing,” Barker said.
Barker said she doesn’t know of anything that will be added to the event next year.
Barker credited youngsters at the event for keeping it lively.
“They were the ones who had the games and kept walking,” Barker said. “They were having fun. We appreciate all them.”
