The Lady Trojan varsity soccer team had to go a full 80 minutes plus two 10 minute overtime quarters before getting the best of Gregory-Portland 2-1. The final goal to break the tie came with just six second left in the second OT period. A centering kick of the toe of Celeste Contreras was headed by a G-P player in front of her own goal. The ball skipped backward off her head and rolled past the Ladycat's keeper for the winning goal. The Beeville varsity will enter the sectional round on Tuesday night and will play the winner of March 28th match between Pleasanton and Corpus Christi Ray. See the Beeville vs. G-P match's full story in the Wednesday edition of the Bee-Picayune.
