In an effort to provide the best testing experience and atmosphere for students and to avoid confusion and reduce stress, A.C. Jones High School is providing delayed entry for STAAR testing April 1-4.

If a grade level is not testing on a particular day, they will be allowed to delay coming to school until noon. For those who do not have transportation to come in late, the buses will run at the regular times and will be transporting as usual. At that time, if a student is not scheduled for testing, they will report to the auditorium where they will be supervised and engaged in an activity.

The following is the delayed entry schedule:

April 1

12th grade – noon

11th grade – noon

10th grade – noon (who have passed Eng. 1 STAAR Writing)

April 2

12th grade – noon

11th grade – noon

10th grade – noon (who have passed Eng. 1 STAAR Reading)

April 3

12th grade – noon

11th grade – noon

9th grade – noon (not enrolled in Eng. 2)

April 4

12th grade – noon

11th grade – noon

9th grade – noon (not enrolled in Eng. 2)

JHS anticipates 100 percent attendance and cooperation in this effort to maximize the best situation possible for students during this important testing week.

Please remember that Monday, April 1, is not a holiday, so students scheduled for testing must be in attendance. Also, as in the past, if a student does not show up for testing, staff members will be calling and going to homes to pick up students and bringing them in for the tests. It is hoped that, with this plan, these kinds of efforts will be minimal.
