The Runge Ladies Auxiliary to VFW Post 9189 held its regular monthly meeting Tuesday, Feb. 27 at the VFW in Runge. President Darla Stewart presided over the meeting. After the opening ceremony, Secretary Joyce Janssen read the minutes from the January meeting. Next, Treasurer Georgia Zowarka gave the financial report. The ladies voted to donate $15 to the State Nursing Scholarship Fund. They then discussed the LAVFW Scholarship form and the need for a revamped form. The next item of new business was a donation to the Hospitalized Veterans Fund. The ladies voted to send $25 to the VFW Foundation Fund.

District President Barbara Hartman surprised the ladies with a visit. The Runge Ladies Auxiliary reached its membership goal of 100% so President Hartman presented President Darla Stewart and Membership Chairman Georgia Zowarka with bracelets honoring this accomplishment. She also present Senior Vice President Dinah Gallagher with a beautiful quilt that Dinah had won at the Mid-Winter Conference in Austin in January. This quilt was part of the State President's raffle to raise money for cancer aid and research. President Hartman then relayed information that she learned at the Mid-Winter Conference to everyone at the meeting.

Following the closing ceremony, members were served refreshments.
