In the JV girls division, Audrey Carranco placed second in the long jump with a good leap of 13-11. The 400-meter relay squad (no names provided for any of the relays) finished sixth to earn a team point with a time of 1:01.78. Lady Trojan Alexis Rodriguez finished second in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:46.62. The 800-meter relay team placed third overall with a time of 2:03.06. Tiffany Vargas placed seventh in the 300-meter hurdles at 56.21 while teammate Janie Cano was in eighth at 59.80. The JV girls’ 1,600-meter relay team placed third at the meet with a time of 4:48.71.
In the JV boys long jump, the Trojans placed two athletes in the top five. Marquez Bowman was third with a jump of 17-10, and Robert Rodriguez placed fifth at 17-9. The 400-meter relay team finished second in 46.07, close behind the winning Carroll Tigers. Gabriel Cardenas was second in the 800-meter run at 2:22.7. In the 110-meter hurdles, Trojan E.J. Bryan crossed the finish line in seventh on 19.76. Ryan Peña placed fifth in the same event with a time of 19.40. Tony Aleman was fourth in the 400-meter dash event while teammate Josh Perez was seventh at 1:00.24. Peña was third in the 300-meter hurdles for the Trojans in 46.84. Robert Rodriguez won the 200-meter dash with a quick time of 23.97. The 1,600-meter relay squad placed second overall in 3:34.80.
The Beeville 400-meter relay team placed fifth in 57.10. Kennedy Treviño was fourth in the 800-meter run in 2:37.92. The varsity girls’ 800-meter relay foursome placed sixth in 2;01.56. Mindy Maldonado was third in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:05.75. Kennedy Treviño placed sixth in the 1,600-meter run in 5:54.83. The metric mile relay team placed sixth for the Lady Trojans in 4:36.75.
Trojan Damien Aparicio was second in the high jump, clearing 5-4. Tevin Wilson was second in the shot put with a toss of 47-2. Aparicio was sixth in the 400-meter dash timed at 56.46.
The Trojan track teams will compete in the Rockport-Fulton meet on Friday.
