On October 20, the annual Indian Summer Festival will be held in the Karnes County Museum Complex at Old Helena.
It will begin at 10:30 a.m. and continue through 6 p.m.
There is no charge for admission.
Authors of books will be on hand to speak with visitors and will have books for sale.
Ballet Folklorico dancers in colorful costumes will provide entertainment for visitors and the Karnes City High School Highsteppers dance team will also perform.
Visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy pony rides, the Baker Petting Zoo, and partake in a variety of local foods.
A fishing pond will be set up for youngsters, and there will be story tellers and live music all day long.
Visitors can tour the complex: the Courthouse Museum, the Sickenius Farm Home, the barn and the 1878 Ruckman Mansion.
The Old Post Office Sweet Shoppe will be open for business with cakes, cookies, cupcakes, kolaches and home baked breads. Visitors are encouraged to shop early, as it always sells out!
The Karnes County Museum Complex is located six miles east of Karnes City on Hwy 80 at FM 81 in downtown Helena, Texas.
