After two years with the Beeville office of the Department of Public Welfare, Lyn Reese has resigned her position. Her husband has been transferred to California, and she hopes to enter California State University to work on a master's degree in social work. In Beeville, she primarily worked on child abuse and child neglect cases and placing foster children. And that subject is one of continuing interest to her. Reese, who drew praise from her supervisor, Mrs. Dee Young, was also active in the Foster Care Funds (through her, the Navy Officers Wives Club donated $1,000 to the fund to help cover the many things a child needs that the state doesn't pay for) and served as court officer for the local DPW in child custody hearings.
