The George West Longhorns outlasted the 3A Bandera Bulldogs tonight in the 2012 season opener, 27-13, in George West.

The Horns had four trips into the red zone in the first half, but only managed to punch it into the endzone twice, taking a 14-7 lead into the half.

But a couple successful drives in the 3rd quarter put the game away after the Bulldogs scored a touchdown to make it 14-13 to begin the second half.

George West will travel to Ingleside next Friday to take on the Mustangs.
