The Karnes City 9-10 year old All Stars participated in the Victoria All Star Tournament held in Victoria, Texas in June. They are the first KC All Stars to make it to the tournament.

The All Star team had two weeks to practice and prepare for the tournament. “Our team motto is “Together”. Which means if we stick together, we can get through the tough times, win or lose together. We went back to the basics of baseball and it paid off for us.” said Coach Hector Lopez.

The tournament started with the first game, June 25 against Kenedy, with KC All Stars winning 17-2. Second game of the tournament was against Victoria South West with a loss of 2-22. June 28 the All Stars played against Goliad and won 17-7. The last game played against Victoria South West on July 1 brought another loss for the All Stars: 2-10.

The KC 9-10 year old All Stars placed 2nd in the tournament and their coaches Amanda Garza and Hector Lopez couldn’t be more proud of the team. “They did their best and it was a great year. I felt very lucky to be part of this team”, said Coach Lopez. The coaches would also like to thank the boys, their parents and all who supported the 2012 Karnes City All Stars.
