GOLIAD COUNTY – Approximately 100 people braved the heat inside Berclair's Moya's Cafe on Sunday for a memorial service to mourn the 15 dead and pray for the other eight victims of the July 22 crash on U.S. Highway 59.

Two small fans did little to relieve the heat inside the restaurant, which does not have air conditioning. Mourners began arriving at 12:30 p.m. for the 1:30 p.m. service.

Most of those in attendance made the short trip north on U.S. Highway 59 to the crash site in a procession of vehicles led by Goliad County Sheriff's Office personnel. Clergymen at the site led a brief service at the crash scene as spectators paid their final respects.
