On May 6, St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Karnes City celebrated its 110th anniversary with a Holy Communion service conducted by Pastor David Collins. Families and friends joined the celebration. Many photographs of the 110 year history of the church were on display.

The theme was “Christ is the vine” - new branches, new life, which was echoed by the baptisms during the service. St. Paul’s congregation is happy to celebrate the Holy Baptism for Landrey Renee Chevalier, the infant daughter of Kim Retzloff and Andy Chevalier. Landrey is the granddaughter of Ronnie and Pasty Retzloff. Clay and Emily Weston are Landrey’s sponsors.

The congregation enjoyed fellowship during a meal of brisket, fried chicken and trimmings provided by the Retzloff family. Church members provided side dishes and desserts. A beautifully decorated cake provided by Carolyn Brown helped make the celebration a success.
