Voters will choose city, school board leaders this Saturday

KARNES COUNTY – Local voters will go to the polls this Saturday, May 12, to cast ballots in the upcoming elections for city and school board positions.

For the City of Karnes City, incumbent Aaron Rosales and Sherry Sommers will compete for the District 3 seat on the city council.

The cities of Falls City and Runge will not have city elections this year.

The City of Kenedy has three positions on the ballot.

Mayor Randy Garza, District 2 Councilman Felipe Leal and District 4 Councilman H. J. Kolinek are running unopposed.

Since there is no opposition, the Kenedy election has been canceled.

In the school board elections, Karnes City has cancelled the elections for Districts 1, 2 and 4.

District 1 Trustee Daphne Bianchi, District 2 Trustee Trini Gomez and District 4 Trustee Terry Johnson are running unopposed.

Debbie Liska and Robert Janysek will compete for District 6.

Falls City has cancelled the school board election. Mindy Jendrusch and Raymond Dzuik are running unopposed.

In the Runge school board elections, District 6 Trustee Eloy Nunez, and District 5 Trustee Christine Ramirez are running unopposed.

In the Kenedy school board elections, Rosemary Vickery and Ricky DeLeon will compete for District 6.

District 4 Trustee Mary Keisling and District 5 Trustee Edward Monson are running unopposed.
