As can be imagined, things are very busy at your Karnes City Community Chamber of Commerce these days. And we are all trying to keep up with the new businesses, the visitors, and the increased interest in our growing community. As would be expected, many of the new businesses are here to help, if they can, people in our area who would like the expertise from their knowledge and experience of managing wealth. Two of the most recent companies who have or will be opening offices here on this topic are Edward Jones and RBC. And it is interesting to note that Karnes County and the Eagle-Ford Shale boom is not only known about in our area, the state, the U.S., but now world-wide. As a matter of fact, RBC originated in Canada and their representative, Daniel K. Blecher, said they still are connected to those beginnings whose history goes back years and years. With their main office in San Antonio, he invites those who would like to meet and talk with him about their financial investments to come to the Jerry B’s Restaurant on Thursdays from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. They have made a space for him to meet and have lunch with those interested in talking with him.

And, as your Chamber wants to help and provide other items and news to our community, we are starting a new project to improve the first impression that all of our newcomers have when they visit Karnes City. Shortly, we’ll be announcing the date a Bake Sale will take place to raise funds for our “Operation Beautification” of Karnes City including the three City Entrance Signs. We are planning the Bake Sale to be just before Mother’s Day and wouldn’t it be great to bring home to your Mother a home baked present for her dinner table that day? More interesting projects are also under consideration and we invite you, as our community, to make suggestions as to what you would like to see us help and sponsor.

In the meantime, start thinking about what you can do to keep and make our city the best that it can be. And remember it’s not just here, or in Texas, that we are becoming known, but all over the world. And we all need to work together! And no matter what occurs in the future, we are surely blessed!

‘Til next time- Cathy
