Lady Eagles finish basketball season

WOODSBORO – Woodsboro Lady Eagles completed a successful 2011-2012 season, finishing the season with 22 wins and 11 losses.

The team had the honor of being District Qualifiers, Bi-District Champions and Area Qualifiers.

Recent individual honors were announced this week. These honors are voted upon by the various coaches of the district.

Kitty Avery was named offensive player of the year. First team members are Bria Brown and Taylor Perez. Named second team All- District were Hannah Carmichael and Jamie Wilson. Honorable Mention Awards went to Toni Martinez and Kasye McCool.

The Lady Eagles are excellent in the classroom as well. Several girls were named to the Academic All- District Team including Hannah Carmichael, Jamie Wilson, Hannah Nieman, Jennifer Elizardo and Kasy McCool.

“They are to be commended for their dedication, desire, and discipline in the classroom as well as on court,” said coach David Carmichael. “The Lady Eagles of 2011-2012 will be remembered.”
