UIL announces district realignment and reclassification for 2012 football season

KARNES COUNTY – The University Interscholastic League (UIL) announced the reclassification and realignment for the 2012-2014 football seasons on Thursday, Feb. 2 and there will be changes for each of Karnes County's high school football teams in regard to which teams they will face in district competition.

The Falls City Beavers will face Louise, Pettus, Runge and Woodsboro in 1A, Division 2, Region 4, District 15 competition this fall. Last year Falls City competed against Woodsboro, Pettus, Runge, Benavides, Agua Dulce and Bruni.

The Karnes City Badgers will face Bloomington, Cotulla, Dilley, Natalia, Nixon Smiley, Poth and Stockdale in 2A, Division 2, Region 4, District 15 competition this fall. Last year Karnes City competed against Brooks Academy, Stockdale, Nixon Smiley, Dilley, Poth and Three Rivers.

The Kenedy Lions will face Ganado, Shiner, Three Rivers and Yorktown in 1A, Division 1, Region 4, District 15 competition this fall. Last year Kenedy competed against Charlotte, La Villa and Ben Bolt.

The Runge Yellow Jackets will face Falls City, Louise, Pettus and Woodsboro in 1A, Division 2, Region 4, District 15 competition this fall. Last year Runge competed against Falls City, Woodsboro, Pettus, Benavides, Agua Dulce and Bruni.
