REFUGIO — The Refugio Police Department conducted a warrant roundup on Nov. 18 and again on Dec. 1.

A total of 30 people were issued warrants by Municipal Judge Gary Bourland for outstanding or unpaid citations. The people were arrested and brought before Bourland during the two-day round-up.

“With the collaborative effort of Judge Bourland, this operation will continue on a weekly basis until the books are cleared,” said Chief Andy Lopez Jr.

Currently, Lopez said there are hundreds of citations which are outstanding and/or unpaid.

The police chief said that anyone who suspects that they may have an outstanding or unpaid citation should contact the Refugio municipal clerk at 361-526-5361.
