WHS gearing up for homecoming

WOODSBORO — Woodsboro High School and its exes are gearing up to celebrate Homecoming 2011 during the week of Oct. 24 - 29.

WHS, the junior high and elementary students will participate in spirit week which includes dress up days, games and a host of activities.

The bonfire on Wednesday, Oct. 26 at 8 p.m. will kick off public activities.

A parade is set for 3 p.m. on Friday. The WHS student council is currently seeking entries for the parade. This year’s theme is Halloween.

Line up is at 2 p.m., with judging at 2:30 and the parade gets underway at 3. Entries must not use decorations that advertise alcoholic beverages or drugs.

The Eagles will host Agua Dulce on homecoming night. Graduates from all classes ening with a one, beginning with 1941 through 2011 will be honored during halftime activities, as well as during the parade.

This year’s homecoming queen will be crowned during halftime ceremonies at Friday night’s game.

The Battle of the Mission Bridge Football game, which is hosted and played by the Woodsboro and Refugio Alumni football team, will be played on Saturday, Oct. 29, at 7 p.m. in Eagle Stadium.

“Woodsboro High School hopes to see all its exes at the Homecoming 2011 activities,” said Bingenheimer.
