Karnes City ISD voted to begin accepting bids to repair secondary school parking lots at its June 14 board meeting. It was also announced and approved to hire three new teachers and the resignation of one teacher was accepted.

Emily Gotthardt and Erin Kroll will be elementary teachers and Amanda Moczygemba was hired for a junior high position. Eighth grade science teacher Erika Urbanczyk resigned. She was also the cheerleading sponsor.

School Board officers were chosen at this meeting as well. Dennis Mika remains as president, James Adams is vice president, and Terry Johnson is secretary of the Board. A new trustee, Marisa Beaver was appointed to replace District 7 trustee Sharon Purser.

No action was taken on the renovation or demolition of the elementary gym at this time. Also, the renovation of an annex building was tabled until further notice.

Still to be considered after Board approval for accepting bids through advertising will be an oil, gas, and mineral lease.
