The visitors scored two runs in their first at-bat, but that was all Lady Trojan hurlers would give up. Adrianna Baltazar started in the circle and pitched the first two innings. Jasmine Soliz threw the final inning, setting down the Bucs in order.
The Lady Trojans belted the ball all night. The Beeville girls scored five runs in the first and in the second innings. The teams were playing under a five-run rule per inning maximum or the Lady Trojans could still be batting.
Selyna Guerra had a good night at the plate with two big hits and seven RBI’s in the game. Ali Antu also had two hits in the win and played well at second base with a few good defensive plays, according to JV coach Jason Hinds.
“The girls did very well against a very young Miller JV team that has not won a game all season. I am looking forward to opening district against Victoria West at home on Tuesday, and I believe that we’ll make a strong push to win district at the JV level with the group of girls we have,” Hinds said.
The Lady Trojans open district on Tuesday night with the Victoria West Lady Warriors coming to Beeville.
Next Friday, the Lady Trojans will play the Sinton Lady Pirates at noon with the varsity match-up scheduled for 2 p.m.
