Three Rivers UIL team brings home Sweepstakes School prize at Medina Valley UIL invitational

The Three Rivers High School UIL team brought home the Sweepstakes School prize from the UIL invitational at Medina Valley High School on Jan. 8.

In individual placement: Lindsey Weber earned fourth place in current events, first in literary criticism and first in persuasive speaking. Additionally, Weber had the third highest overall point accumulation out of all 42 seniors who participated at the meet.

Luis Riojas placed first in calculator applications, third in mathematics and first in science.

Saul Cruces placed second in calculator applications and fourth in mathematics.

Jesi Hessong placed third in calculator applications.

Jeremy Pape placed first in spelling.

April Lemos placed first in prose.

Lindsey Zamzow placed third in prose and third in informative speaking. Mikaila Rushing placed fourth in prose. Tara Soliz placed fifth in prose.

Maegan Haag placed second in poetry. Darcy Orsak placed third in poetry. Victor Fernandez earned fourth place in computer science.

Bradley Bellows earned second in persuasive speaking. Chris Duenes placed fifth in informative speaking. Gage Saenz earned sixth in informative speaking.

All the Three Rivers teams placed first out of 25 schools. The Speech, Calculator Applications, Literary Criticism and Computer Science Team each earned first place.
