In the first half, the Cougars maintained the lead the entire 20 minutes. The Rebels made a run and got close but the CBC men always answered and kept the Rebels at bay.
Lee College made a short run at the Cougars at the end of the first to pull within two, 32-30, as the buzzer sounded.
The second half was much the same as the teams traded baskets and played some tough defense.
The Cougars again hit for 32 points in the second half while the Rebels scored 28 to make the final a 64-58 win for the CBC men.
Three Cougars were in double figures with Ashton Brown leading the way with 21 points from his guard spot. His total included four three-pointers. Tiondre Johnson hit from inside and out for 17 points, including one long-range jumper. Dajon King finished with 10 with a couple of threes included.
Tanner Ellenburg hit for eight points in the victory and Dejon Taylor added five. Dominic Steadham closed out the scoring with three.
Vincent Garrett led the Rebels with 22 points in the loss.
The Cougars met the Temple College men on Monday night and will meet the McLennan Community College Highlanders on Dec. 1 at 5:30 in Beeville.
