Mrs. Dermody was born Aug. 10, 1931, in Cyrstal City to Sue (Goodson) and Roy Young Davidson Sr. She was a 1948 graduate of Crystal City High School. She married Bernard “Beany” Casper Dermody on June 30, 1961, in Uvalde, and they lived in Kenedy for many years before moving to Sonora. In Kenedy, she served on the Chamber of Commerce Board for several years and was a teacher and coach at Kenedy High School. She was a member of the Progressive Study Club and Delta Kappa Gamma. She also loved to judge UIL competitions.
Survivors include her husband, Bernard Dermody of Sonora; four children, Byron Dermody of Kenedy, Dean (Louise) Dermody of Sonora, Terry (Glynn) Brown of Soldonta, Alaska, and Dixie (Herbert) Radicke of Uvalde; brother, Roy Young (Randa) Davidson, Jr. of Batesville; sister, Virginia Ann Davidson of Batesville; nephews, Raice Davidson and Raine Hobbs; niece, Ranell Borders; 11 grandchildren, Glynn Brown, Patti Books, Desiree Cvek, Kristin Light, Amber Oberkrom, Holden Radicke, Colyer Dermody, Sidney Dermody, Slade Dermody, Blayne Dermody and Brett Dermody; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy Young Davidson Sr. and Sue Goodson Davidson, and great-grandson Cade York Brown.

The funeral service was conducted Friday, April 18, at 11 a.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary with burial following in Loma Vista Cemetery.
