The celebration will be Feb. 15 starting at 6:30 p.m. at the historic and recently air conditioned, Panna Maria Hall. Individual tickets are $25 and other corporate sponsorships opportunities are still available.
“We are excited to have Pioneer Natural Resources, ConocoPhillips, Talisman, Statoil and more as our oil field related sponsors, as well!” said foundation spokesperson D’Ann Williams.
“Marathon has been a first-rate leader in the oil and gas industry for us in the Eagle Ford. They have partnered with us at our countywide held math and science camp, helped provide materials and equipment for the classroom and more,” Williams added. “Very early on, Marathon offered to advise us on the direction of our long-term goal of graduating more high school seniors with either associates degrees and/or vocational training when they leave high school for even greater opportunities. Marathon has a true corporate commitment to stewardship and philanthropy. Their website states, ‘Marathon recognizes that operating in communities and countries is a privilege. We manage our business in a way that promotes social, environmental and economic benefits for our stakeholders.’”
“It is with distinct pride that the Karnes City ISD Education Foundation lists them as one of our corporate partners,” Williams said.
The momentum for the annual Gala that celebrates education has really started to take off, Williams said.
“Last year, hundreds of Alumni from near and far as well as teachers and friends of the district attended. An exciting Silent Auction is being held again with popular items that were a hit at last year’s gala. From rifles to designer handbags, costume jewelry to a ‘Big Green Egg,’ even fun items for children like an electric John Deere Gator, the board has been busy coming up with creative and fun ideas. We are happy to report that the proceeds from the Silent Auction alone more than pay for the entire Gala, so your generous donations are sure to go directly into the classroom.”
This year, entertainment for the dance will be provided by Cactus County featuring KCISD Alumnus and 5-time San Antonio Guitar Wars Winner, Mark Odom.
