She was born April 20, 1927 in Panna Maria to Henry Manka and Regina Pilarczyk Manka. She and Alvin Hoffmann were married in Panna Maria on Sept. 23, 1946. Florence was a homemaker and an active member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Hobson.
Survivors include her children Pat (Barbara) Hoffmann of San Antonio, Don Hoffmann of Hobson, Jane (Barry) Cochran of San Antonio, Mark (Cynthia) Hoffmann of Kerrville, and Susan (David) Kelley of Yoakum; grandchildren Daryl Hoffmann, Neil Cochran, Adam Cochran, Amanda Hoffmann, Matthew Hoffman, Lindsay Kelley, and Jeremy Kelley; and two great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brothers Frank and Tony Manka.
Visitation began at 4 p.m., Tuesday Oct. 22 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Hobson with a rosary recited at 7:30 p.m.
The funeral Mass was celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 23 at the church.
Interment followed in the Hobson Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were Daryl Hoffmann, Neil Cochran, Adam Cochran, Matthew Hoffmann, Jeremy Kelley, and Bobby Hoffmann. Funeral services were entrusted to Rhodes Funeral Home of Karnes City where the on-line guestbook may be signed at rhodesfuneralhomeinc.com.
