Season greetings! Yes I know we’re only in the month of October, but before you know it, Christmas music will be playing, bright shining lights blinking, and Christmas trees decorated with the most amazing beautiful ornaments that will marvel you!

Did I just say, “Christmas trees decorated with the most amazing beautiful ornaments that will marvel you?” Well, yes I did!

With that image in mind, let me tell you what the Kenedy Public Library is planning. Our library will have an “Inspired by Books” Christmas tree forest contest.

Let me explain. The contest will run from Nov. 22 – Dec. 20. Starting Nov. 18 – 22, each group entering the contest will decorate an artificial Christmas tree inside the library using their own ornaments, lights, and tree skirt. (The library will provide 10 artificial trees.) The tree decorated must be inspired by a book. The book selected will be displayed in front of the tree decorated by that group. Trees will be entered into one of the following categories and judged: Children books, Elegant, or General Appeal.

Christmas tree judging will be on Friday, Dec. 13 at 6 p.m.

One winner per category will be selected. Entertainment and refreshments will be served after the judging.

If your group would like to participate, please contact the library for more information at 830-583-3313. Please call soon for limited space at library for tree displays.
