Kenedy Lions JV team cages Bobcats JV team

Thursday September 12th the Kenedy Lions JV hosted the Skidmore-Tynan Bobcats JV.

The Lions would use a well rounded game to defeat the Bobcats 42-20 and improve their record to 3-0 on the year.

They would score on offense, defense and special teams.

The first score would come from Aaron Villarreal with a 25 yd run at 4:45.

The 2pt run by Scott Saenz would be no good. Skidmore would tie the game with a 13 yd run and their 2pt conversion would be no good with 8:58 in the 2nd.

Zeke Jacquez would break the tie with a 13 yard run of his own with 5:56 and Justin Mireles would run the 2pt conversion in to make it 14-6.

Skidmore would answer right back with a 42 yd run and 2pt conversion with 5:34.

Derrick Wilson would score on a 30 yard run to break the tie with 3:48. He would connect on a pass for the 2pt conversion but Villarreal would be stopped short to leave the game at 20-14 at the half.

The defense would step up and get a score as Chris Pena recovered a Bobcat fumble in the end zone with 7:48 and Villarreal would run the 2pt conversion in to make it 28-14 Lions.

Still in the 3rd the defense would strike again as Villarreal would pick off the Bobcat pass and go 34 yards to end zone.

Jacquez would add the 2pt conversion with a run to make it 36-14 at 4:39 in the 3rd.

Dustin Soto would intercept another pass but nothing would come from this turnover.

Skidmore would add another td on a 1 yd run with 1:47. The 2pt try would be stopped to make it 36-20.

On the ensuing kickoff Chris Pena would take the onside kick to the house as he raced 55 yards up the middle.

The 2pt try would be no good and leave the game at its final score of 42-20. Next up for the JV is Woodsboro at home following the junior high game.
