Angelica “Kela” Garza, 79, of Kenedy, died Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013 in Kenedy.

She was born on June 5, 1934 to the late Jose Garza and Rafaela Villanueva in Kenedy. She was a homemaker and a faithful member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church.

Survivors include her daughters, Patricia Alvarez, Clara Garcia, Irma (Tino) Garza; sons, Edward (Terri) Garza, John Earl Garza, Randy (Donna) Garza of Kenedy, Connie (Rosie) of San Marcos, James Garza of Spring, and Eleazar (Helen) “Shorty” Garza of Karnes City; sisters, Maria (Ascencion) Carrizales of Beeville, Irene Garcia of Port Lavaca, brother, Candido Villanueva, Sr. of Calif.; 29 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren

She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Angelita Villanueva and brother Thomas Villanueva.

A Rosary was recited Monday, Sept. 9 at 7 p.m. in the Eckols Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral Mass was celebrated Tuesday, Sept. 10 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Kenedy.

Interment followed at the Loma Alta Cemetery in Kenedy.
