Thomas “Beaver” Villanueva, Jr., 61, died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013 at Otto Kaiser Memorial Hospital in Kenedy.

Mr. Villanueva was born Jan. 26, 1952 in Kenedy to Tomas Cervantes Villanueva, Sr., and Rafaela Garcia Villanueva. He worked for America Tec in Chicago and Los Angeles, retiring after many years of service. Mr. Villanueva was of the Catholic faith.

Survivors include his sisters, Angelica “Kela” Garza of Kenedy, Mary Carizalez of Beeville and Irene Garcia of Port Lavaca; and his brother, Candido Villanueva of Kenedy.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister Angelita Cardoza.

Visitation was held Sunday, Feb. 3 in the Eckols Funeral Home Chapel, with a rosary recited at 7 p.m., that evening.

Funeral Mass was celebrated, Monday, Feb. 4 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church with Rev. Stanislaw Marciniak officiating.

Interment followed in the Loma Alta Cemetery, Kenedy.

Pallbearers were Connie Garza, Edward Garza, John Garza, James Garza, Dwayne Garza, Ascension Carizalez and Thomas Villanueva. Honorary pallbearers were all of Beavers friends.
