GOLIAD – Goliad County Judge David Bowman filed Monday as a write-in candidate for the Precinct 4 commissioner election Nov. 4.

Bowman will run against David Bruns, who won the March 4 Republican primary over Jimmy Schulze and W.A. Wimberly Jr.

"I'd like to continue to serve the people of Goliad in that capacity," Bowman said Tuesday.

Bowman lost his bid to remain county judge in a primary runoff May 27 to Pat Calhoun. The runoff was necessitated after Bowman and Calhoun tied in the March 4 primary.

"Some people had approached about the possibility and I had been thinking about it," Bowman said. "I finally decided to go in that direction."
