He was born in Kenedy to William Cornelius and Alice Harper Ryan.
Morris served his country during the Korean War as a member of the United States Army. He was a mechanic for Union Carbide for 39 years.
Morris is survived by his wife, Anna Knight Ryan of Victoria; daughters, Susanne Carroll and husband Randy, and Denise Sparks and husband Stephen, all of Victoria; son, Bruce Ryan and wife Susan of Victoria; brother, John Ryan of San Antonio; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three sisters and four brothers.
The family will receive friends at Grace Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m Thursday, June 26. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, June 27 at Grace Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Whitele officiating. Burial with full military honors under the auspices of the Victoria County Veterans Council, AL, CWV, VFW, DAV, MCL, MOWW, EX-POW, MOPH, VVA and KWV will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Scott Sparks, Clint Sparks, John Carroll, Scott Christensen, Luke Ryan and Mark Ryan. Honorary pallbearers will be Christy Christensen, Philip Sparks, Gail Carroll and Wendy Sparks.
Memorials in Morris’ name may be directed to Hospice of South Texas, The American Cancer Society or the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
