I would like to thank everyone involved in the Goliad Republican Primary last week and special thanks goes out to the Goliad County Information Technology Director (who wishes to remain anonymous).
Through the IT group, it was possible this election cycle to remove data entry errors from the vote reporting through use of software. This could not have been done without an upgrade to the entire Goliad County network which was completed in time for this election.
Thanks to all the election workers for both parties as Election Day was challenging with power outages, equipment failures and overall inclement weather.
The Republican party is looking forward to a spirited runoff election on Tuesday, May 27. With the county judge race ending in a dead heat in the primary, the candidates get another three months to make their cases to represent the party in the general election in November. I believe both candidates are looking forward to this opportunity.
Goliad County voters should also be encouraged by this as we have two excellent candidates in this race. Voters will get another chance to make their voice heard and I am sure everyone in Goliad County now understands why it is important to vote for the candidate of your choice.
