GOLIAD COUNTY – A one-vehicle crash Tuesday morning on U.S. Highway 59 approximately five miles east of Goliad resulted in a 19-year-old Victoria man receiving life-threatening injuries.

Hunter Reid Tipton was ejected from his 1997 Chevrolet S-10 pickup after losing control of the vehicle, according to Goliad County Sheriif's Office Sergeant John Pape.

Pape said a driver of an 18-wheel tractor trailer was trailing Tipton's vehicle when Tipton's pickup swerved and rolled several times. Pape said Tipton landed in the middle of the highway.

The crash occurred at approximately 8 a.m.

Tipton was transported to Victoria's DeTar Hospital Navarro by Goliad EMS and was listed in critical condition. He was not wearing a seat belt.
