FANNIN – Gennette L. Floyd, 86, of Fannin, died Friday, Nov. 8, 2013.

She was born Nov. 5, 1926 in Fannin to Notis Sr. and Lula (Wesley) McKenzie.

She was a Baptist and a retired domestic.

She is survived by her husband, Ernest Floyd of Fannin; daughter, Ernestine Carroll of Goliad; sister, Ostella Caldwell of Houston; grandchildren, Marilyn Martin of Victoria, Elsie Wilson of Victoria and Annette David of Goliad; and four great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Bertha Lott and Pinky Fox; and brother, Notis McKenzie Jr.

A walk-in visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 22 at Barefield Funeral Home chapel. A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23 at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Vernon J. Garza as pastor. Interment will be at Cologne Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Kenneth Williams, Leonard Carroll, Carl Johnson, Anthony Hamilton and Louis Barefield. Honorary pallbearers will be deacons of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, ushers of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church and Brother Gene Ellis.
