GHS boys, girls take second at cross country meet

SHINER – The Goliad varsity cross country teams finished second at the Shiner Invitational on Saturday.

John Von Dohlen was second out 65 runners to pace the Tigers, who were also led by Quentin Alkek (sixth), Austen Guerrero (10th), Jake Schneider (20th), Rhett Davis (23rd) and Jakob Mata (42nd).

Andrea DeLaGarza was third out of 115 runners in the girls competition. Also leading the Tigerettes were Danielle Garza (eighth), Denise Jones (25th), Michala Janssen (32nd) and Marla Reyna (34th).

In the middle school competitions, the Goliad boys were fifth and the girls were sixth.

Leading the Cubs were Tino Reyes (seventh), Kevin Cavazos (27th), Bailey Huber (32nd), Logan Bland (33rd), Jericho Jackson (59th), Gabriel Gonzales (61st) and Jason Gutierrez (65th).

Leading the Lady Cubs were Kaci Hotz (15th), Bella Livas (21st), Jalyn Garcia (37th), Megan Fielding (45th), Jennifer Valdez (46th), Sarah Helmer (49th), Savanna Mozisek (76th), Kiana Flores (78th) and Brynna Galneau (109th).
