Thanks to a grant the Goliad Middle School seventh-grade teaching team was awarded by the Goliad ISD Education Foundation, Dr. Eric Cupp will be coming to Goliad on Wednesday to speak to students during the day and to the public at an evening presentation.

Sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade students will attend the presentation at 10 a.m. High school students will attend a 1 p.m. presentation.

A community presentation will be held at 6 p.m. at the GHS auditorium.

Cupp’s presentation will be titled “Life Is a Decision.”

“Life is a decision,” Cupp said. “Every day, when we wake up, we each decide who we are going to be. Our choices and our behaviors are for us to decide. However, in today’s culture, many fail to take responsibility for those decisions. They, instead make excuses and often lay the blame on others. Furthermore, we all have “automatics” in our lives which are things we do simply because that is what we have always done.”

Cupp will emphasize that poor choices come from poor thinking. He will prompt his listeners to challenge their own belief systems.
