The Goliad Tigerettes improved to 2-0 in District 30-2A volleyball play Sept. 3 with a 25-21, 25-17, 22-25, 25-18 win over the Palacios Sharks in Palacios.

Roxanne Morris had 13 kills and Ashtin Zamzow added 12, while Sydney Morris had 24 digs and Kendall Coles posted 26 assists.

On Friday, the Tigerettes fell to the Yoakum Lady Bulldogs 16-25, 25-21, 25-16, 25-14 at the Goliad Events Center.

Zamzow had 15 kills and Roxanne Morris followed with 12. Sydney Morris had 21 digs and Kendall Coles tallied 21 assists.

Goliad took third place in its own tournament on Aug. 29-31.

The Tigerettes won five of six matches. Goliad beat Woodsboro 25-10, 25-9 before falling to tournament champion Victoria St. Joseph 25-22, 25-9 in the semifinals.

The Tigerettes defeated Shiner 25-11, 25-1 in the third-place game.
