YORKTOWN - Waynell Duderstadt, a beloved wife, mother and grandmother who left many beautiful memories has gone to be with her Lord and savior on Monday, April 22, 2013, after a courageous battle with diabetes. She was at home, surrounded by her loving family and dedicated care giver. She was born on Dec. 22, 1936, in Weesatche to Gilbert and Hilda Diebel .

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Darwyn Duderstadt; Son, Craig Duderstadt (Luann); Daughter, Tanya Jacob (Nolan) all of Weesatche. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren, Ashley and Megan Duderstadt and Brittany and Katelynn Jacob who she would do anything for. She was also blessed with a very dedicated and loving caregiver, Irene Perez.

She is preceded in death by her parents; sister and brother-in-law, Geraldine and Edgar Berger; and son, Jeffery Duderstadt.

She was an active member of St. Andrews Lutheran Church in Weesatche where she was baptized, confirmed, and married.

Waynell worked side by side with her husband to support their family in many ways ranging from running a Dairy, raising broilers for Tyson, to helping with Yorktown Motor Co. She also worked at Sears in Cuero for 30 years as Credit Manager and sometimes even delivered orders to elderly customers on her way home from work. In 1974, she and her husband purchased Schorlemer Garage in Weesatche and turned it into the Duderstadt Garage of today. Waynell spent many long hours keeping books for the Garage and the Farm/Ranch business as well as helping customers at the front counter.

Waynell's big smile was a reflection of her big heart. She was a very generous person and never was too busy to help others. She was active in many community organizations, Weesatche Hermann Sons, 4-H leader, Domino Club and for many years coordinated the making of all the potato salad as well as all the ordering of supplies and drinks for the Annual Weesatche Fireman's 4th of July Feast. She also shared her love of baking by creating beautiful and delicious wedding, anniversary, and birthday cakes for many family and friends.
